Sweet Beauty Treats

February 6, 2012

Don’t leave the sweets just to your teeth this Valentine’s Day.  Treat your lips and your hips with these sugar based lip and body treatments.

PREP YOUR POUT

Cold weather really chaps my hide… and often times my lips too.  To keep my pout kissable and ready for whatever gooey balm I’m going to get addicted to next, I use this awesome lip scrub and balm from Victoria’s Secret.  The scrub puts sugar to work exfoliating the lips and then the tingly balm is the perfect hydrating and softening finish.  I love to use this at night, right before bed, so my lips can soak up the balm all night long.  Then, I can put my best lips forward with the start of each brand new day.

PUCKER PROTECTION

I was given a mini set of these little babies as a birthday perk from Sephora and my lips have been hooked ever since.  The balm contains a light SPF so my puckers are protected from the sun as well as feeling hydrated and smooth.  The rose tint is a barely there, come-hither rouge if you’re looking for a little color but feel hesitant to commit to a full blown, bright red lip.

 ON THE HIPS

Create a simple, at home sugar scrub with 1/2 c. of granulated sugar and enough olive oil to make it just moist.  Use the scrub all over your body and then rinse away in the shower.  The granules scrub and slough off any unwanted roughness (but, let’s be honest, scrubs really just feel good no matter what your reason for using them).  So, next time you feel the need to buff, mix together this sweet body treat and enjoy the exfoliation from your elbows down to your feet.

Affectionately,

Rachel
