If a chapter wants to support The Center how can they do that?
Primarily, a chapter can support The Center by using the resources, tools and programs provided to them by The Center. If a chapter finds these useful or helpful to their membership, they can support our mission by encouraging their members to continue their use. Additionally, a chapter can choose to make a donation to The Center through fundraising efforts or by donating a portion of their Chapter Operations Budget surplus to the continued efforts of our team dedicated to chapter and member success.

Why does The Center need financial support?
This is a momentous time in The Center’s history. Just three years old, The Center, Tri Delta’s newest foundation, has already become the organization’s premier resource for innovative educational programming.
In today’s world, change is constant and a necessity if we are to remain relevant. The ability to adapt and to respond to change is paramount to success. It is only with financial support from members, chapters and friends of Tri Delta that The Center is able to seize opportunities and to meet the demands and challenges of today’s rapidly changing world. Opportunities for new and innovative programming that benefit the women of Tri Delta are constantly presented, and unrestricted support helps The Center take advantage of such opportunities—assuring Tri Delta’s future remains both stable and progressive.
Every dollar received supports The Center’s mission: to assist Delta Delta Delta in acquiring funding for safe and secure learning environments, developing progressive educational and leadership initiatives, and providing our partners with visionary educational underwriting opportunities.
Whether you give to a specific program or the general fund, we invite you to join us in supporting The Center for Living, Learning & Leading and ensuring it is here for years to come.

How does The Center assist with collegiate housing?
Fraternity and sorority house corporations own and/or maintain over 8,000 facilities at colleges and universities and serve as the largest student landlord in the country. But the growing enrollments, combined with the rising costs to provide safe, secure and comfortable living environments for our collegiate members has left many house corporations struggling to meet demand. For this reason, Delta Delta Delta Fraternity established The Center for Living, Learning & Leading’s campaign services team.
The Center provides a wide array of services to assist local house corporations with their alumnae development and fundraising needs. Trained staff and consultants collaborate with local alumnae to provide support for donation management, alumnae publications, and capital campaign strategy and implementation. In addition, The Center’s recognition as a qualified 501(c)(3) organization enables alumnae to make tax-deductible donations toward educational space in local chapter houses.

If a chapter wants to support The Center how can they do that?
The Center for Living, Leading & Learning, relies on financial support from individual donors and collegiate and alumnae chapters.
Delta Delta Delta Fraternity and her chapters are formed under section 501(c)(7) of the tax code and as such gifts to the Fraternity and her chapters are not tax deductible. However, The Center for Living, Leading & Learning is formed under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code, which allows donors to take a tax deduction for gifts to The Center.
The Center accepts gifts from chapter fundraising efforts regardless of the type of fundraiser they perform (tax deductible fund raisers and non tax deductible fund raisers).
In order to hold a tax deductible fundraiser for The Center for Living, Leading & Learning, 100% of the proceeds from the fundraiser must go directly to The Center for Living, Leading & Learning. Chapter’s planning to host a tax-deductible fundraiser should note the following:
- You must advertise The Center as the beneficiary. You cannot say that the chapter or Fraternity will benefit.
- Instruct donors to make their checks payable directly to The Center for Living, Leading and Learning, the 501(c)(3) entity.
- Collect all fundraising checks and send them to The Center. Be sure to include a list with the name of each donor, address, check number and amount of each gift.
- You may collect cash donations, but donors that wish to receive a receipt for their contribution must make their gift via check.
- Do not send cash. Deposit cash gifts in your chapter account and send a chapter check in the amount of the cash donations.
In general, for a gift to qualify as tax deductible the donor cannot receive goods or services in exchange for their contribution.
Non tax-deductible fundraisers are still an effective way for chapters to fundraise for The Center. Examples of non-tax deductible fundraisers include, but are not limited to flower, candy, food, and jewelry sales. Since this is not a tax-deductible fundraiser, individuals can make out their checks to your chapter.
With support from chapter fundraising efforts, The Center can fulfill its mission and provide signature programming, safe and secure living environments and innovative educational opportunities.
